If you’ve followed me on here, and social media, over the past year, you know not only how much I’ve come to love Princeton Holt’s sci-fi drama, “2050,” over the past year, and how much it means to me personally. You can read my review here<\/a>, and you can hear the interview I did with Princeton and writer Brian Ackley about the film below. It made my 10-best list last year, and might make its way into the discussion for the decade as a whole. There’s more to make official here, though, and that’s what this post is for.<\/p>\n

I normally do not plug theatrical releases or home media releases, but there’s something meaningful in “2050’s” for me to share. As you can hear if you go to the “Commentaries” tab, you can listen to fan commentaries- some solo, many with my friends Ronnie Haynes and David Miles- that I’ve recorded over the years prior to beginning the Sonic Cinema Podcast. Well, I am returning to recording an audio commentary once more, as this summer, Princeton asked me to do a critical commentary for “2050” for the film’s DVD and Blu-Ray release. It has already been recorded and approved for use on the DVD and Blu-Ray, which will be released, as well as VOD access, on January 14, 2020. I’m very excited to have gotten the opportunity to record a commentary for this film, and I cannot wait for people to hear it.<\/p>\n

Also on January 14, the film will be having its final theatrical screenings after almost a year’s run playing in theatres. Atlanta is one of the cities on the docket for that day, and it will be screening at 7pm on January 14 at Regal’s Perimeter Pointe location in the Sandy Springs\/Dunwoody area just outside of Atlanta. Not only will I be in attendance just watching the film on the big screen- feel free to come up and say hi- but I may even give an introduction to the film. This is just one of many exciting developments for Sonic Cinema this year. I will share more in the coming weeks as I wrap-up the year in film.<\/p>\n
