When Robert Yaniz Jr. and I began discussing the idea of talking about the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/sonic-cinema.com\/movie\/cloud-atlas\/\"><i>&#8220;Cloud Atlas&#8221;<\/i><\/a>, a big part of it was, whose podcast does this make sense to be on. We eventually decided that the answer was both. By this point, hopefully you&#8217;ve heard our discussion of the film over at Close Watch, which I&#8217;ll link to below. Here, we will discuss the film&#8217;s score by Tykwer, Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil, the ways the film uses the &#8220;Cloud Atlas Sextet&#8221; as diagetic music in addition to the film&#8217;s underscore, and why such an approach works beautifully with the film&#8217;s themes and ideas.
