There are still several I haven&#8217;t seen, though. Here are the nominees, what won, and my thoughts as a voting member. I hope you enjoy! Wright is not far behind. I&#8217;m surprised Gosling wasn&#8217;t the choice, but a worthy winner and runner up here.<\/p>\n<p><u>Best Supporting Actress<\/u><br \/>\nEmily Blunt (<i>&#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221;<\/i>)- RUNNER-UP<br \/>\nDanielle Brooks (<i>&#8220;The Color Purple&#8221;<\/i>)<br \/>\nPen\u00e9lope Cruz (<i>&#8220;Ferrari&#8221;<\/i>)<br \/>\nRachel McAdams (<a href=\"https:\/\/sonic-cinema.com\/wordpress\/movie\/are-you-there-god-its-me-margaret\/\"><i>&#8220;Are You There, God? It&#8217;s Me, Margaret.&#8221;<\/i><\/a>)<br \/>\nDa&#8217;Vine Joy Randolph (<i>&#8220;The Holdovers&#8221;<\/i>)- WINNER<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts: Randolph is great in &#8220;The Holdovers,&#8221; but neither her nor Blunt were my top choices; that was McAdams.<\/p>\n<p><u>Best Original Screenplay<\/u><br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Barbie&#8221;<\/i> (Greta Gerwig, Noah Baumbach)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/sonic-cinema.com\/wordpress\/movie\/dream-scenario\/\"><i>&#8220;Dream Scenario&#8221;<\/i><\/a> (Kristoffer Borgli)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;The Holdovers&#8221;<\/i> (David Hemingson)- WINNER<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;May December&#8221;<\/i> (Samy Burch)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Past Lives&#8221;<\/i> (Celine Song)- RUNNER-UP<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts: Especially with &#8220;Barbie&#8221; movie to adapted for the Oscars, these are your top two choices for the Oscars. My pick is &#8220;Past Lives,&#8221; but I get why &#8220;The Holdovers&#8221; is getting love.<\/p>\n<p><u>Best Adapted Screenplay<\/u><br \/>\n<i>&#8220;American Fiction\u201d<\/i> (Cord Jefferson)- RUNNER-UP<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Are You There, God? It&#8217;s Me, Margaret.&#8221;<\/i> (Kelly Fremon Craig)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Killers of the Flower Moon&#8221;<\/i><\/a> (Eric Roth, Martin Scorsese)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221;<\/i><\/a> (Christopher Nolan)- WINNER<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Poor Things&#8221;<\/i><\/a> (Tony McNamera)<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts: Another stacked category. Not surprised &#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221; won, but I am a bit surprised (pleasantly) that &#8220;American Fiction&#8221; had more love from us than &#8220;Poor Things.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><u>Best Cinematography<\/u><br \/>\n<i>&#8220;All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt&#8221;<\/i> (Jomo Fray)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Killers of the Flower Moon&#8221;<\/i> (Rodrigo Prieto)- RUNNER-UP<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Maestro&#8221;<\/i> (Matthew Libatique)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221;<\/i> (Hoyte Van Hoytema)- WINNER<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Poor Things&#8221;<\/i> (Robbie Ryan)<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts: The two best-looking films of the year as our 1 and 2, but all four of these I&#8217;ve are stunning displays of visual craft.<\/p>\n<p><u>Best Production Design<\/u><br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Asteroid City\u201d<\/i> (Adam Stockhausen, Kris Moran)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Barbie&#8221;<\/i> (Sarah Greenwood, Katie Spencer)- WINNER<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/sonic-cinema.com\/wordpress\/movie\/the-creator\/\"><i>&#8220;The Creator&#8221;<\/i><\/a> (James Clyne, Chris DiPaola, Matt Sims, Lek Chaiyan Chunsuttiwat)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Killers of the Flower Moon&#8221;<\/i> (Jack Fisk, Adam Willis)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221;<\/i> (Ruth De Jong, Claire Kaufman)<br \/>\n<i>&#8220;Poor Things&#8221;<\/i> (James Price, Shona Heath, Szusza Mihalek)- RUNNER-UP<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts: Another phenomenal category.
