We begin watching a young man (Anton Schrama) as he drives out to a remote area. Music playing, smoking a cigarette, and slicking his hair back. He finally gets out to the spot where a body is located, and he and a long-time killer (Marc Clement) go back-and-forth with regards to how to dispose of the body, and the son doesn’t quite have the right idea about how this work is supposed to go.

Adam Weber’s “The Body” is a dark comedy about what would happen if a young man, with a very movie-fried look at killing people, was tasked with killing, or at least disposing of a body. (I mean, he doesn’t know who William Shatner is, but he knows Leatherface and “American Psycho.”) The film has style and delivers its ideas in a highly enjoyable manner, and it follows its narrative in a way where we are not quite sure where it is going to head until it gets there. It’s a very funny premise that the writer-director executes very well, leading to a terrific conclusion.
