Sonic Cinema

Sorry for being away for so long- it’s been a crazy few months for me, as you can read about in my “Creative Happenings” blog on Sonic Cinema. Well, after many months of postponements for a variety of personal reasons- most recently, my hospitalization with pneumonia in September (I woke up on the day we […]

Well, that was an interesting night…sometimes. A few surprises. A few obvious moves. A lot of overall intrigue in what I might say was one of the best Oscar-casts in recent memory. But where to start… The Good: 1. Jon Stewart. He hit this Oscar telecast out of the park. At the start of his […]

Snooch to the Nooch! Inspired by a note a friend of mine posted on Facebook recently, I’ve decided to try and take a different direction with my final Oscar blog before the big night Sunday (with Jon Stewart hosting). I hope you enjoy it. Before I get to the festivities, though, an update on where […]

At first, I figured it to be just another opportunity to maybe have my music played. Back in July of 2006, my friend and fellow composer Adam Scott Neal told me about a performance opportunity taking submissions for a concert they were putting together. I had just joined SCI, and had already submitted pieces to […]

Snooch to the Nooch! The title says it all. Actually, it doesn’t this year, but read on. The Oscars are (hopefully) on February 24 at 8pm EST this year, with Jon Stewart once again hosting. Snooch to the Nooch! Well, there’s not much left to say that the title doesn’t already say. On the eve of Oscar nomination announcements, here are my personal picks for what (and who) I’d like to see nominated this year. Oh, and before you write a comment whining, “Where’s ‘There Will Be Blood?’ Or ‘The […]

So, a funny thing happened to me on the way to my 10 best list of 2007. I landed myself in the hospital with pneumonia. It was my own fault- I hadn’t taken as good a care of myself as I should have (I’d been living with asthma for a couple of years, and wasn’t […]

Hello fans and friends. It’s been quite a while since I’ve had occasion to write one of these. That doesn’t necessarily mean that I’ve not been busy- just that I haven’t had enough to justify a post per se. As you’ll soon learn, there is a lot to discuss. First, on a more personal note, […]

Snooch to the Nooch! Well, another summer has come and gone at the movies. Man, was this a long one. Seriously. I haven’t been this exhausted when Labor Day came around in years. Work was constant, film watching was frequent (including four actual midnight shows, a record for me or anybody perhaps). Was it worth […]

Ok, admittedly not my most professional title yet, but hear me out before the torches and pitchforks come out… Hello one and all. Well, after two months of delays, filming has finally commenced on “Unwinnable Hand: A Thriller in Two Movements,” the original short film I wrote the 1st draft of back in September 2005. […]
