Have you ever wanted to look into the life of a professional celebrity impersonator? This enjoyable and enlightening short documentary does just that with hilarious and heartfelt results, as directors Matt Mamula and Jason Kovacsev take their camera to a convention where all manner of “pseudo-celebrities,” from Dubya and Obama to Oprah and Elvis, gather for a good time and to give people the enjoyment of seeing some of their favorite people of all-time in person by way of regular individuals who bare a striking similarity to the flesh-and-blood people, and who love what they do.

In writing the above paragraph though, it feels wrong to call these impersonators (or “tribute artists”) “pseudo-celebrities.” Some of these people have become quite successful in their line of work, and they have a real talent that is obvious when you see them in character. Watching a duet between Dubya and Clinton is worth seeking “Just About Famous” out alone. It’s a film that makes one wish that short films had more traction in mainstream pop culture that they do presently.
