We’ve all had situations that have arisen at the worst possible time- it’s a part of life. In Steve Blackwood’s comedic short, George (Blackwood) and his wife Helen (Sandy Bainum) are getting ready for a dinner party with friends and clients. Shortly before the party begins, they get a delivery from a “marital aid” store, and it, and the delivery boy, are upstairs, with the delivery boy being unconscious. Now, they have 40 minutes to figure out what they’re going to do, and the situation seems to go from bad to worse on a dime.

The comedic setup in “Stuck” develops into a short film about a married couple acknowledging the struggles they’re having romantically, and how they are trying to spice things up. It captures a sweet, emotional connection during a stressful situation while maintaining a humorous tone that is endearing and entertaining. The ending finds them more at peace with themselves than they probably have been in a while, and excited for the moment they can try their new toy. We feel their affection.
