The Look (Short)
Sean is a stutterer. He has some techniques he’s been learning, but it’s not always easy to put them into practice. His mom comes up with an idea– she’ll give him a “look,” which will cue him to remember. When Sean and his friend David are looking to go to a movie, though, things get awkward. A simple scene that has some comedic value in it’s scenario, “The Look” is well-written by Audrey Noone (who also stars as the mom) and directed by Yvonne LaBarge, with a warmth that doesn’t undercut the humor of what happens. It’s a fun, witty scene that makes me hope to one day see a longer narrative out of the filmmakers.
